First Post!

Hello! My name is Carissa Burgess, I’ll start this blog off by introducing who I am:

First and foremost, I am a Christian/Christ follower. I do my best to shine Jesus’ Light and I hope that you see that in me.

My MBTI is ISFJ (if you are into personality stuff we are already kindred spirits!) I am the oldest of nine kids. Six of which were adopted, one from China and five from Colombia. I am a world traveler, and have lived in Shanghai for six months. I look forward to traveling a lot more in the future!

My friends (and biological sister) describe me as this:

“Carissa, you are like a wide open field of wildflowers and a daisy growing in the middle of the snow. You are full of endless possibilities and adventure, but you are also filled with beautiful fragile things. You are like trickling water and warm earth, and a Douglas fir tree. Like a fairy born without wings. You’re like peace for me. A hug when I really, really needed one. Home.”

I am all about stories. I believe every picture has a story behind it and every person has a story to tell.

The reason why I created this blog is to encourage you and let you know that you are not alone. There are many difficult things we will face in this world and we need to be able to unite as believers in the one true God.
