Brandon Heath – Give me your Eyes to see again
“All those people going somewhere why have I never cared” oof! That hit me hard when I first listened to this song. If you haven’t heard it before I highly suggest you check it out as it is a powerful song. I try to listen to it regularly so that I don’t just go through my life forgetting all of those people that I pass by. I want to make a difference in all of their lives, even if it’s just brightening up their day with a smile.
Ever heard of the ‘ripple effect’? One action equals lots of others. One light word in the darkness can mean the world to someone. One smile, one encouraging note makes such a difference. You may never know what your words mean to someone, but I assure you that they mean a lot! So be careful what you say and how you say it.
I encourage you as you go about your day, whether that be at work or just with your family or friends, to ask for “God’s eyes so you can see everything that you keep missing and a heart for the broken hearted” as they are everywhere and sometimes it is hard to tell. A lot of times the happiest people have the hardest lives they deal with. It’s easy to pass by a seemingly happy person and think they are truly happy. When deep inside they are actually hiding what troubles they are going through.
Have you ever been so comfortable that you weren’t? You felt like you needed to complain about something or were on edge – even though your life was perfectly fine. I’ve seen it happen too many times, and I’ve been guilty of it myself. But I’ve realized that the best way to fight that feeling and urge to complain was to find someone less fortunate than myself and help them in whatever ways I could. Yeah, it usually takes me going out of my comfort zone, but I feel so much happier after doing it! It also makes it easier to be thankful for what I have. Praise God for everything in life, even the small things!
I challenge you today to go out and find someone in need and to help them with whatever they need help with. Whether that be just a listening ear, an encouraging word, or an errand, show them just how great God is!
Bye for now, have a wonderful day!
