You Can Start Where You Are

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending” a quote by C. S. Lewis.

This means a lot to me, and I remind myself this almost every single day, because I’m not perfect. I don’t always get everything done that I want to in a day. I don’t like everything that I have done (or not done) in the last several years. There are many things I wish I could go back and change. I wish I was nicer, tougher, stronger. And that bothers me. If I let it, it could eat away at me. And I have let it before.

I’ve loved Jesus my whole life, I asked Him into my heart (twice actually – just to be sure) when I was young and I have never doubted that He was a Good and Loving God. However, there has been times where I thought that He might have forgotten me. But I blamed that on myself. I knew that He was and is busy, so I figured that if I felt far away from Him that it was just my fault for not trying harder. In truth, it was my fault. My fault for forgetting that He will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:8). I felt far away because I didn’t give my worries and pain to Him. I didn’t trust Him to help me and give me His Peace when I needed it. Now I know better. Sure, I could ask Him for anything and that doesn’t mean I’m going to get it. But just because I don’t hear back from Him right away doesn’t mean that it’s a ‘no’ either. I just have to be patient and wait for His timing!

I do my best to remember the past, enjoy the present, and look forward to the future. Because you really can’t change the beginning. It has already begun. All you can do is change your RIGHT NOW and make the ending 100 times better than the beginning. So let me ask you this: What are you going to change that will impact your future for the better?

For me, I started this blog. It has been my dream for many years and I’m finally doing it. I’m so excited for where this will lead and I hope that God uses this to help those like me, lose who were lost and are now found (Luke 15:32) 🙂

Bye for now, have a wonderful day!
